The South Nottinghamshire Hussars

A regiment of Gentlemen and Yeomanry existed in the southern part of the County in 1797, and wore the uniform that was general in the Yeomanry at the time. Towards the end of the year 1826 many troopers with previous service were incorporated into a regiment with the title "The Southern Nottinghamshire Yeomanry".
In 1844 the Hussar dress was adopted, and the title "The South Notts. Hussars".
