The
regiment is easily identified from the white collars and stripes
on the trousers. The sergeants in the 13th Hussars did not sport
Arm Badges.
The XIII
numeral can be made out on the collar of the sergeant watching us.
They are
playing team cribbage, as is shown by the fact that they only have
five cards each, and that the cribbage board only has four pegs (two
for each team) ; opposite players play together.
That
Cabinet Card is not very clear, but definitely very atmostpheric -
and one can almost smell the prevailing smoke !
