The
Hussars are fitted with the tall early Busby pattern.
The 13th
Hussars' facing colour is buff - that actually turned out to be
white. Their busby bag and collar are thus white - as the feather
is. The trousers still only wear one (white) stripe ; that would
be changed in 1864.
The 13th had been stationned in England
since May 1856 (they did not take part in the Indian Mutiny fights).
It may therefore be supposed that some of the Hussars are sporting
Crimean medals and may even be Light Chargers.
