The undress effects
of officers of course followed specific regimental patterns. The
10th Hussars' stable jacket sported no olivets (which most hussar
regiments did) and had a distinctive cuff braiding.
The unique
chained-pattern pouch belt is however the element that allows to
identify 10th Hussars at once and without doubt.
The 10th Hussars
were in Ireland for a long spell in the 1860s ; I traced them at
the Curragh in july 1863 (though they could have reached Ireland
earlier) ; they shifted from Newbridge to Aldershott in May 1868.
